College Station, Texas —Dr. Noah Cohen, professor of large-animal clinical sciences at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical
Sciences, received the 2008 Schering-Plough Animal Health Applied Equine Research Award at the 10thWorld Equine Veterinary Association (WEVA) congress in Moscow, Russia.
The award is for his research in equine neonatology and perinatology, most recently focusing on a collaborative study onRhodococcus equifoal pneumonia, a major cause of disease and death in foals.
Cohen received a PhD in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University and his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania.
WEVA was founded in 1985, with a mission of advancing equine health and offering continuing education for equine practitioners
from less-developed countries.
